This has been a favorite for the hikers that stay with us. We provides all bedding (sheets, blankets, pillows) as well as towels. This room starts at $125.oo call for details.

The Santanoni Preserve offers a 9.4 mile loop that can be enjoyed by foot, bicycle, or horse-drawn carriages.

The Goodnow Mountain Trail is 3.8 miles round trip that is accessible year round and offers hikers the reward of a climbing a fire tower with breathtaking views of the area. There are geocaches, which can be found at www.geocaching.com

Mount Adams Trail is a 4.6 mile excellent for hiking and snowshoeing between December and February. It is a notoriously wet hike, but offers great views of Lake Jimmy.

Vanderwacker Mountain is a nice hike. The trailhead is located about 2.5 miles down a somewhat rough road. Once there you’ll enjoy a 5.7 mile hike that takes you to a views of at least Algonquin, Marcy, Colden, and Gothics, on a clear day you may see even more

Newcomb's Main Street, State Route 28N, is rapidly becoming a popular route for cross country bicycling enthusiasts. With the major re-paving project now underway (completion date late summer 2014), The route from Long Lake to either North Hudson or Minerva/North Creek, provides smooth biking, scenic views, rest areas, diner/restaurant, country store, an ice cream stand, camping and places to stay.

Motorcyclists are also discovering the Route 28N route through Newcomb NY.

Check in is after 12:00 noon

Please check in upon arrival.

Check out is by 10:30 a.m.

Late Arrivals - If you are arriving after hours please make arrangements with Kelly or Tony ahead time. Remember to use a flashlight when entering occupied bunkroom, so as not to disturb sleeping guests.

Cancellation - Our cancellation policy provides a full refund if the reservation is cancelled 14 days or more before the proposed arrival date. If a cancellation occurs between 13 and 5 days before the expected arrival date, your deposit will be applied to a future stay. If the cancellation is made less than 5 days before the day you are due to arrive, your deposit WILL NOT be returned.

Quiet hours are posted from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. After 10:00 p.m. we request that your party use flashlights when entering the coed bunkroom or the family rooms, so as not to disturb other guests.

Breakfast is served daily from 7:30 am till 9:00 a.m., for those who have made earlier am plans a continental breakfast will be provided.

Trail Lunches To-Go are available at an additional charge, if interested please contact Kelly & Tony upon arrival.

- Vegetarian Meals and some special meals can be served. To prepare them, we need to know at least 24 hours in advance. We also need to know what can be eaten as well as what is to be avoided. example: dairy, eggs or gluten-free.

Hot drinks are complimentary for The Hoot Owl Lodge guests and afternoon snack are available in the kitchen. Alcohol not provided

Linens and towels are provided in all of our rooms.

Bathrooms are shared for all of our guests.

Pets are welcome upon approval by Kelly or Tony of The Hoot Owl Lodge.

Smoking is not permitted inside or porches The Hoot Owl Lodge.

Swimming is available at Lake Harris. Please read the beach rules upon arrival.

Canoe rentals are available through Cloud Splitter Outfitters. Please call to arrange a canoe or kayak rental with your stay. 518-582-2583
